I want it to be a good radio

Got mine today (08/23). Read about all the problems people faced. Not sure if I got a new batch, but here's what I got: The battery stays attached once it snaps into place. I have to pull the latch to disengage and rip it off. The # key does not change the transmit power. All channels have Rx/Tx codes set to 67 or D023N. Took me a few minutes for the clunky software but I fixed it. The Nagoya antenna is not suitable. The standard antenna is fine, but it doesn't seem to have the same range as my 905G with the standard antenna. No extra screw for programming cable. It's not that big a problem. I can put it on the radio to read/write within 30 seconds. I won't check the water resistance, I'll take your word for it. Not a belt clip fan, wish they had kept the old style.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine
