Review on Porsche Cayenne 2003-2006 Tailgate Lift ๐Ÿš™ Supports: Premium Replacement Shock Struts - 2-PC Set by Derrick Milkie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The dealer charged $658.58 to replace them.

.and that's just too much. $249.04 for sunroof jamb, $70.06 for window jamb, $304.50 for 2.1 hours of labor. Plus $35 for two tracks of "Finish". That's about 10% of the car's value! Always change all four posts, as they all help keep the sunroof open (and you might as well do it while you're there, for an extra $15). I found a video on YouTube how to change them, it's quite easy if you don't hurry. Initially they work very well; As soon as I open the sunroof, it opens by itself. The door does not need to be raised at all. 2004 Cayenne car. I've owned since new. The original four struts lasted until April 2014 and a second set of four struts installed by the dealer (Porsche parts made in Germany) lasted until now (November 2020). Somehow the original hood brace still works great. I installed these A Premium sunroof pillars along with the A Premium window pillars. Total cost: $84.98 Well, I'm guessing that's almost $600 ahead. Let's see how long these Chinese last! They cost about 25% of German parts, so if they last 3 years I'll be happy. I wouldn't want to change them more often. Will definitely upgrade if they even start weakening.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Good but not great
