We have recently replaced all the old carpeting in our home with faux wood and needed some transition strips where the wood meets our existing tiled rooms. These silver aluminum transition strips look great on our cream tile and dark hardwood stain. Because they are aluminum, they can easily be cut with a standard miter saw. Don't forget to pre-drill the nail holes in the existing floor or sub-floor before nailing the floorboards: If you do not pre-drill, you can press in the adapter strips with a strong hammer blow. My only complaint is that some of the 9 strips I received had minor mole type damage. Luckily I managed to cut most of the ends off, but if the marks had been in the middle they would have been inevitable.
