To be clear these are certainly not the incredibly cheap Dirt Devil branded filters. These are inexpensive compatible filters made and sold by someone other than Dirt Devil. These replacement filters do not look exactly like the factory brands. They feel slightly "overcast" and don't feel as soft and papery as Dirt Devil brand filters. However, this doesn't seem to affect their performance. If anything, I find it makes them a little easier to clean between uses. The hole where you insert the filter into the vacuum is a little smaller on these replacement filters so you have to press a little harder to insert it. It doesn't matter much. I say "easy," really. If he were freer, that would be a big problem. But a little tighter just means you actually fit better. The lifespan of these replacement parts appears to be about the same as the factory brand. I didn't notice any difference. The amount of material collected and captured is the same as the original branded filters. Conclusion: Works just like the Dirt Devil brand, but much cheaper.
