Review on 🌟 Cooler Master MasterBox Pro 5 ARGB ATX Mid-Tower with Adaptable Layout, Supports 10.5" E-ATX, ARGB Lighting, 3x 120mm ARGB Fans, Tempered Glass, DarkMirror Front Panel by Sherman Lancaster

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like the case but the fans and some parts are disappointing

Build Quality: 3/5 Appearance: 4/5 Airflow: 4.5/5 Layout: 4.5/5 Features: 3.5/5 Overall: 3.9/5.0 First of all, the case itself is okay, I would give it 4 stars. But the biggest appeal comes from the included 120mm front-facing RGB LED fans. BOTH of my fans make a very audible click that changes frequency with fan speed. I check that it is not connected to any cables or obstructions but is coming from the motor housing itself. The fans look great and move the air silently apart from that annoying click. This is for the customer's system, not my own, so I hope they don't care, but if it were my PC I'd be at a loss. If you're more than 3 feet from your PC and the front fans won't turn on, you probably don't care. That being said, I've been using Cooler Master fans for years, and many of them make a very faint click when spinning, but usually not enough to be heard more than 6 inches away. It's just 4-8 times louder. Speaking of fans, why does the RGB controller have a 3-pin socket? Most motherboards have a pinout for RGB control. I have yet to find out. It even says "gigabyte" on the connection, and I have a gigabyte board. I wish the RGB standard was more clearly defined. Let's get to the rest of the matter. I like the layout and the cooling options. For a Micro-ATX case, it has very good airflow and cooling performance. There is enough space on the top for an air cooler up to 280mm in size and the dual tower cooler I use is great too. It doesn't come with rear fans, but I knew it would, and I'm not deducting points for it at this price point. also 2x 2.5 brackets above the PSU cover. That's good, but they only give you the hardware for 2x mounts, which is weird since there are 4 mounting areas in total. I love the removable 3.5" drive bay and all the space for the size of this case. Looks very modern and is easy to work with. However, the flaps of the expansion slots are annoying. They are difficult to remove with the mainboard installed. I know it's a cheap case, but they should screw into standoffs, not this one. I expect this from a $40 case, not $70. Cooler Master, charge twenty cents extra and give real expansion slot fillers please. cheap, it's a good option if you don't mind possibly "clicking" fans and some quality labels.
