This product is an excellent copy of the GameCube controller and a very smart choice. At least that's what I thought. I originally ordered this controller to use in a game of Smash Bros 4 (which is a common reason) and it worked great for the most part (the only problem with the buttons was that the ZL and ZR grip buttons were, no shield buttons, but quickly fixing the control scheme solved that issue) but I realized something was wrong when playing with the controller. The controller itself perfectly mimics the feel of the original controller. Additional buttons for start, Selector and main menu buttons also allow you to use the Wii U menu, which is a nice little feature missing in the original. I soon bought a GameCube controller and adapter (3rd party) and suddenly realized what the problem was. In addition to adapting to the design, the size of the controller was slightly larger than the original controller. The ZL and ZR buttons, which replace the L and R buttons, were also a little more "recessed" into the controller, which I may have found. All in all, this is a great GameCube controller replacement if you're having trouble finding a GameCube controller adapter for the Wii U. The controller needs a Wiimkte to work, although this shouldn't be a problem if you previously had a Wii. A good alternative, but nothing beats the original in my books.
