I needed a caliper set for larger objects with better resolution than a ruler or tape measure. I have several 6" digital calipers so this is not my first set. They were competitively priced and arrived quickly. However, the first issue I had was that the case was bright red (blacklisted) and blow molded (not particularly hard). There was no depreciation and the caliper rattled (albeit in bags) and was included. Not sure how much battery is left but time will tell. One of the latches on the case was also damaged. My smaller and cheaper calipers have better housings and give me more confidence that they won't get damaged (soft/hard housings). On the plus side, they include an extra battery. I added padding to my shell using thin sheets of EPDM with adhesive on the back which greatly improved the caliper mount and "fortunately" there was enough clearance in the shell to do this. In terms of performance, it works. It doesn't always return to zero (off by 0.01), but it's within expected accuracy for the size. Price wise, Revain has several calipers in this range. It may be worth spending a little more to get something better.
