how to repair Also color the pointer with a contrasting color. I still love this gauge.

Working on my back in a dark basement, I turned the knob to measure 220VAC. Except that with the gray pen, the pointer is not colored to stand out from the background. In the end I tried to measure the resistance of 220 volts. It's okay, that's what the fuse in the housing is for. I even stock 500mA mini fuses just in case. The meter is now dead even after replacing the fuse. :-(I can take credit for that, but I could have set the meter correctly if the pointer had been colored. It's a human factor issue which is why they don't have an ejection seat on airplanes place it next to the parking brake lever. I still love this one little meter and will buy another one just to warn others. I'm leaving my original rating intact. Love this meter. Great for sorting 1 ohm stepper motor cables and coils. Great for sorting out 1 ohm stepper motor cables and coils that jumps all over the place I still prefer digital voltage adjustment I would say digital is for those who just want an answer but I think the world needs more understanding Light worked once or twice and never came back on Don't buy this, Because of the backlit dial, minus one star to attract attention buyers who want this specifically for the backlit dial power function. Personally, I can live without your light. The timeout was very short on the few instances where it actually worked. Update: I used the ohmmeter functions to trace the ground circuits and the readings were a little wonky. I turned the zero calibration knob back and forth several times to break the potentiometer's contact pad. I then rotated the main function knob back and forth around the watch face a few times to get the contacts to clear themselves. After that, the readings were reliable and consistent. I also had to mechanically zero the gauge movement, which isn't a big deal. I still love this gauge for its size and features, especially at this price point. Would I buy again even if the lights don't work.
