Working on my back in a dark basement, I turned the knob to measure 220VAC. Except that with the gray pen, the pointer is not colored to stand out from the background. In the end I tried to measure the resistance of 220 volts. It's okay, that's what the fuse in the housing is for. I even stock 500mA mini fuses just in case.
