Before and after the operation, I ate liquid/swallow only and tried various plant-based meal replacements and protein shakes. If I had to rank them all, this Orgain Organic Protein Peanut Butter comes in second (Soylent Cacao is my number one). I was researching how to make smoothies to get rid of the "grainy texture". I would use a combination of hot/warm water, ice, cold water (or cold soy/nut milk). I would split up the amount of liquid needed and mix the powder up with hot/warm water first. This seemed to "dissolve" any grainy texture. It's like mixing hot cocoa powder with hot water - it has to be hot/warm enough to dissolve the powder. I then mixed the rest of the liquid with ice and cold water (or cold plant-based milk). Using all the water (hot/ice/cold) the smoothie was smooth enough for me, but when I needed extra calories I used cold plant-based milk with ice for the last half of the required amount of liquid and it messed up the creamy flavor. Of course, using mixers made the cocktail even smoother and creamier. Drink it now, I've found that if you keep the cocktail in the fridge after mixing and drink it later, it won't come out as smooth as if it were freshly mixed. I really liked the taste as I'm a fan of peanut butter. It wasn't overly sweet compared to other meal replacement shakes I've tried, but it still felt like a treat.
