The plastic check valve that I replaced with this quality brass valve has been leaking for years. This is important when winterizing your water system; A faulty valve will allow expensive antifreeze to leak out of the water heater drain hole. This brass valve costs a little more than cheap plastic and potentially saves me $15 a year on antifreeze. Hmmm - looks like I just saved up some wasted money.
