Review on πŸ”Œ Get Organized with Ginsco 270Pcs Shrink Adhesive Tubing: Versatile & High-Quality Cable Management Solution by Ron Patel

Revainrating 3 out of 5

High quality heat shrink tubing, size 4-5, smallest size, unsuitable for vehicle wiring

This kit has a 3:1 heat shrink tubing. I like the glue inside (and yes, although the reviews say there is no glue, there is glue, or in my case there was). The glue doesn't ooze out of the heat shrink like some butt splice connectors I've used, but it's there. I personally wouldn't care if it actually oozes. However, I prefer heat shrinking with glue as it gives a much stronger physical bond to the wire. When shrinking crimp connectors, you don't just rely on the crimp to make the electrical and physical connection. My only issue with this kit is that most of the heat shrink tubing is tiny. There are about 8 total of the largest size, enough to cover 12 gauge duplex cables with crimp connectors. Most of the kit fits 18-22 gauge bare wire snugly, and there's even some heat shrink tubing in the kit that will likely be undersized for 22 ga. With a 3:1 shrinkage I can't imagine what you would use the smallest size for. microchips? Ha! In fact, why would you need a 3:1 shrink to anything less than 22 gauge? I mean, at that size, fully scaled down by a factor of 3, you're approaching a wire the size of a human hair. I'm sure someone will find it useful, but I don't. I will definitely use 100% of the two largest sizes, maybe downsize the next two sizes if I ever need them, and honestly just throw the 2-3 smallest sizes in the trash. Still, not a terrible price for quality heat shrink tubing, even though I do more than half the junk. I just wish I could see a kit that costs twice as much but shrinks 2-3 times as much as the 3 largest sizes.

Pros
  • Liner with heat activated adhesive provides impermeability to salt water and other liquids.
