Review on ๐Ÿšฐ 12 Inch Brass B 0231 Faucet for Optimal Mixing by Brian Rivenbark

Started leaking a day after installation

I received this faucet on Friday to replace an old non-brand faucet in our pub that was leaking. I installed it on a Friday morning and the cold water would not turn off on a Saturday afternoon. I removed the cold rod and what I found is shown in the picture above. The new TS Brass stem is shown above the old TS Brass Eterna stem. Note the white plastic plunger on the new stem. The seal simply sits in a cup at the end of the rod and the plastic piston moves freely on the end of the rod. Someone opened the faucet too far and the plastic plunger and spring behind it came out of the end of the stem and prevented the faucet from closing completely. I was able to fix it, but apparently it will happen again. I bought this faucet to match other TS brass faucets at the brewery and pub for ease of storing spares. If I had known it contained such cheap plastic I would never have bought it. I am very disappointed in TS Brass that the quality of their products has dropped to such a low level. At this point I'll probably just order a new set of stems for him. A nice feature of the TS Brass Eterna line is that all parts of the valve are interchangeable. Spend a few bucks more and get a real TS Brass faucet.
