Review on 🦍 Waterproof Polyurethane Bottle - Gorilla Original by Badpuppy Warton

Great glue, but you have to know its limitations

Great glue, but with a few caveats: 1. It's a water-activated polyurethane. Water starts the curing process, and the instructions say to wet one of the two objects to be bonded. That's fine, but air usually contains water vapor...even more so in humid environments. When you remove the glue from the container, it is replaced with air, which usually contains water vapor. This will start the slow curing process of the remaining adhesive. After weeks or months, the remaining glue will become thicker than solid. I use once or twice from the container before it goes bad (thickens too much). The lesson is that containers should be viewed as single-use or dual-use. Do not buy large containers unless they are completely used up shortly after opening.2. The water vapor in the air hardens the adhesive escaping from the seams quickly and forms a hard foam. It needs to be cut with a clerical knife or an Xacto knife if there is access to the seam... if there is no access, very bad.3. For best results, the glued elements must be glued together after applying the glue.4. Leave to harden for at least 24 hours.5. Cured adhesive has limited flexibility. I have used it for shoe heels and hard soles. Anything more flexible expects it to crumble and fail with repeated flexing.

Pros
  • industrial adhesives
Cons
  • boring packaging
