We have a Nikon D3100 which we got before our second daughter was born. My husband is a photographer and this was his first DSLR and we only had the lens that came with the camera. After using the D3100 for almost a year, he decided he wanted to be able to get close-up shots of my eldest daughter as she played soccer, school programs, etc. It was perfect. He loves it and is hard to please when it comes to camera gear. The kit included a lens cap, a lens hood, and a small pouch for all of this. worth your money! I was concerned about the gray market, but not concerned. it was the perfect birthday present!
