Ideal for very strong 45lb Pix Mx

I have been a dog lover and owner all my life. I never liked or needed collars like "toothed" - I thought them inhuman. And then along came Harvey, my 45 pound pix mix. He was Hurricane Harvey's dog and lived on the street for his entire 2 years. We hired two reputable dog trainers in the Houston area and they agreed that there were certain rules of conduct that we would not break. Pulling and swinging while walking was one of these behaviors. Walking all of our other dogs turned into a three arena circus and wasn't fun. Choke collars, harnesses, soft leashes. We have tried them all but failed. I tried this collar as a last resort. It has a 16" neck and we had to remove one of the Type 1 collar links to get it to fit properly. It really helped tame his cravings on walks. To the point where I can relax a little and enjoy walking. with it. Love the rubber tips on each prong, it keeps it from getting too hard especially on a very short haired dog. They also sent 5 extra rubber tips for replacement if one fell off. A week and about 15 walks later, we still haven't lost the rubber tip, would recommend.

Pros
  • INJURY PREVENTION: Extra blunt rubber tips can prevent your dog's neck from hurting with a slight squeezing sensation.
Cons
  • boring packaging
