My wife bought a new car a few years ago and I really appreciated her backup camera. My truck is an old crew cab with a canopy, so the rearview mirror is a bit useless. When I saw this camera at Revain I thought it was worth the risk for the price. The camera arrived quickly and included a wiring harness (long enough for a long cockpit box, the wiring harness was about 30 feet long). I contacted the seller for a free monitor quote and got a quick response that they would be happy to ship the monitor and the camera is working fine? When I told them I couldn't test the camera without a monitor, they immediately sent me a free monitor and only asked that I write a review when it was ready and working. Installing the system took several hours. A wired camera is more difficult to set up, but with a car as long as mine, WiFi doesn't seem like a good option. The guide that came with the device isn't perfect, but it's enough for someone with little wiring experience to decipher. I mounted the camera on the rear bumper above the license plate (see photo, the bracket attached is actually behind the license plate and is secured with the same screws that hold the license plate), routed the cable to the front and attached the power supply to the back . Light cord wiring my trailer. In the cockpit I found a ground and connected the other end of the wire harness to the monitor in a makeshift location. I'll probably move it before I'm done but wanted to check it out. I started the truck and put it in reverse. The monitor turned on and I had a clear view to the rear! It is so easy! I'm happy with the clarity of the picture, I think if I buy a new radio with a touchscreen in the dash and connect a camera to it the picture will only get better, but the picture quality on a free monitor is great as is. All in all worth the money spent! The seller has great customer service and responded to my emails very quickly. Thanks very much!
