Review on Optimize Hydraulic Systems with Brush Research Standard Cylinders by Abdullah Huan

The chainsaw works again!

My dad recently picked up his Echo CS-400 chainsaw. I took the unnecessary parts, pulled the piston out of the cylinder and inspected it. It didn't look great, but it wasn't terrible either. A bunch of rust, two opposite small grooves, but no major scratches. Bought a new set of pistons. Remake the cylinder with this flexible honing tool. They do a really good job cleaning and shading the cylinder to get the new piston ring seated properly. Speed recommendations are given by the manufacturer depending on the cylinder diameter. Follow them. Also remember to use this always well lubricated with engine oil and to clean the cylinder with warm soapy water (and also all ports and passages in the cylinder). When you think it's clean and dry, wipe the inside of the cylinder walls with a soft white cloth and you'll probably see that it's not clean enough. do it again This cylinder head was aluminum, so I went for AO (Aluminum Oxide) grit. They have different grits for different metals. The chainsaw now works like a champ! Good compression. It's like new. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that it's quite expensive, mainly due to persistence.
