Non-Porous Granite Polisher

The product arrived quickly and in good condition. We have a granite counter that appears to be well sealed and we keep it clean which is why we use this product most often as a polish. work well. If you use it on granite, you should be aware that granite is NOT the same. Some granites are much more porous than others. If you have a porous type of granite, it is recommended that you use a commercial sealant - just sealant. The literature also indicates that for porous granite it is preferable to use an oil/solvent based product than a water based product like this. You can test the porosity of your granite by letting water sit on it for some time and see if it seeps in or not. As it begins to seep in you will see the granite darken in that area. DuPont is a very reliable name and their products are generally very good. In my experience, when shopping for cleaning products, it's better to spend a little more and buy a well-known brand. I believe DuPont has an oil/solvent based sealant if you decide to go that route. Note that if you are using a standalone sealer, you will need to use a separate polishing tool, also available from DuPont. I have not used this product on anything other than granite surfaces, but as a natural stone, granite has the greatest potential for discoloration. So if this product works well on granite, I expect it will work just as well or even better on other surfaces.

Pros
  • Safely cleans natural stone countertops and surfaces such as granite, slate, ceramic tile and sandstone.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
