Review on ASUS Designo MX27UC Type C Monitor - Adaptive 50Hz, Flicker-Free, Blue Light, Frameless, HD, 4K Display by James Locklear

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Stay away from this monitor and Asus (Terrible customer service)

Although the picture is quite nice and clear, this monitor developed broken pixel lines after about two months of use. I couldn't get it back through Revain so I contacted Asus. Asus asked me to send the monitor in and have it repaired. The whole process took about 15 days. The only problem is that when I returned the monitor the screen was not working at all. No display output at all. So I received the monitor directly from Asus in an unusable condition. This is unacceptable. I called them immediately and they are not very cooperative. I was told I would receive an "advanced replacement" but it would take 24 hours. Two days later I received a call back and was told they were out of stock for the advanced exchange and could no longer order for the advanced exchange (which is unwise as this monitor is still in production). As a result, they ran a manual review that seemed to last a full 3 days and claimed they didn't have it until I mentioned I would never use or refer customers to an Asus product again. Then suddenly they had substitutes. Very shady company. Let's see what happens when I receive the item. I will update this review. I would stay away from Asus anyway, the deal may seem good but it's not worth the hassle. There are far more established brands that are very keen on providing excellent customer service. I will update this review again after this mess is over. Update September 13, 2018 I received the advanced replacement today and the monitor appears to be in good condition. Still a bit annoying with the whole process that took just over a month to get a working monitor. I often had to call and ask why it was taking so long. There was always an excuse. Anyway, now I finally have a working monitor. Let's hope it stays that way.
