At some point (probably when opening for cleaning from dust), two plastic fasteners broke off at the base of the lid. After that, the mouse gradually became immune to pressing the left-right buttons, and the problem is somehow related to the pins on the lid itself. If you press a toothpick directly on the rubber buttons on the mouse, everything works. If you press hard on the mouse with the base of the hand (near the wrist), everything more or less works. If you just keep your hand on the mouse and press the buttons, it will work every 3-4-5 times. It's a shame that because of a small broken piece of plastic, I have to send a good mouse to a landfill and buy a new one.
