Works as advertised!
It matched the temperature reading on my 3D printer, which tells me both were accurate, but I'm sure there are other ways to actually test it (this IR thermometer I'm trying to check) accuracy, but I'm not a scientist so I'll have to rely on comparing temperature readings from my own gear until one day I can get official gear.
