I used to have an insulated French Press that I bought from Starbucks many years ago. (I want to say that I bought it about 8 years ago). Anyway, it's time to retire. The handle broke off, leaked, the plastic part of the lid broke so it was quite dangerous to use. But I was stubborn and didn't want to get rid of it. I mean, this coffee pot has been my longest relationship, how could I turn it down!? But the time has finally come. So I went in search of a comparable replacement that could handle my 2-3 pots a day and didn't break. After some research and searching around town for something I liked, I came across the Coffee Gator on Revain. I admit, I fell in love with it immediately because of the name. I mean come on Coffee Gator? Sounds cool. So I read some reviews and finally decided to buy it. It arrived in the mail 2 days later and I opened it up looking forward to my new kitchen toy. It was in a nice box, everything was nicely wrapped, and I got to work straight away. And my god, it's amazing! The dual filter is really important. (I was a bit skeptical about this before trying it) and my coffee is now more of a drink than a "snack". I'm used to having a little ground coffee in my coffee and I didn't mind, but damn it's nice to just have coffee. It keeps the coffee as hot as my old one (in its prime). . So I would say as much as I can that this is average compared to other isolated presses. (I also have a glass press that I use for tea, and it cools down really quickly, so it's definitely better than them.) What I like best is that it doesn't have any plastic parts to break off. The spout and handle are permanently attached (welded?) to the pan, so they shouldn't come loose. And the lid/piston is also made of metal. But not the kind of metal that stinks in your hands. I bought the dark gray and purely for aesthetic reasons it's not as dark as the Revain photos. Just for your information. It's still grey, but not as dark anymore. What is good. Oh, and it's not as hard as it looks. I was expecting it to be quite heavy, but it isn't. It doesn't give you a 6 a.m. workout when you get out of bed. So in the end I'm very happy. I would definitely buy again if the tank ran into my current one and managed to destroy it. And I recommend it to anyone who loves coffee. And they say it's expensive, but for isolated abs you're in pretty expensive territory and this one is definitely worth it. 10/10 Thank you Coffee Gator! Oh, and the little container that comes with it is adorable. I'll never use it for coffee, but damn it's cute.
