Review on Hermitshell 5200MAh PowerCore Bar Sized Portable by Pamela Whitworth

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good way to store an Anker power bank, although not required.

I bought this with my 6700mah power bank as I thought it would be more appealing than just leaving the charger in the mesh pouch that came with it. It's definitely more attractive. Its size is perfect for the power bank itself, and an internal stretch pocket also houses a small USB cable. The anchor comes with a mesh pouch to store the charger - Hermitshell *doesn't* hold the anchor while it is in this mesh pouch. I can remove the mesh pocket and fold it over the charger and Hermitshell just closes. Protection: This case definitely protects against accidental drops. I've never heard of such devices being particularly drop sensitive, but I wouldn't test that theory without a pretty solid protective case! Weight: Well, that's about twice the weight of the charger - see adjacent photo. Notice this; If you're trying to minimize the size, you can skip it. Carabiner: I have seen pictures of this or similar cases used to attach the case to the outside of a backpack for example. Interesting concept but I wouldn't risk it; The carabiner is attached to a thin metal loop that is attached to the body by a fabric loop. See photo next to this structure. The fabric actually looks solid, but I've had far too many slip-on pieces falling off my key chains due to the thin loop to loosely trust something like this. However, I use it to clip to a key loop in my purse to make it easier to fish out. It has NO room for anything outside of that short cord and folded mesh pouch. A much longer USB cable will not work, and neither will a wall plug. There are many other, larger electronics cases that would fit everything in one case, although of course they don't fit the size of this charger. Other possible uses: It would be nice to store charging cables, headphones and charging plugs. If it had two inner pockets instead of one, it would be almost perfect for this purpose. I stick my inhaler in to see if it fits (it fits) Overall: The case does what it's designed to do and it does it well enough. Bulky is a factor in what it's designed for (protecting your anchor) and I'm not dismissing it because of that. In fact, the only reasons I gave it 4 stars versus 5 is because of the flimsy metal carabiner and the fact that it's just not a must-have for your anchor.
