I wear them under jeans or khaki work pants. Very warm. They tend to curl up a bit, but not so much that you can see through the legs. I've also worn them under skirts. I love that they are mostly cotton and not some "suck all fat" slimming underwear. This is NOT shapewear if that's what you're looking for. I like that it allows female body parts to breathe easily ;-) Especially if you are active and are a plus size - really helps with chafing and is very comfortable.
