The perfect size for my blue-fronted amazon!

I bought two of these bottle brush perches - a large one for my Blue-fronted Amazon and a large x for my Harlequin Macaw. The large one I received is 1.5-2 inches in diameter, which is just right for my BFA. The bottle brush wood is clean and hardened, and the hardware is safe. The rind has a nice rough texture and if my BFA decides to peel it off it will take a while. Love these perches which can only be mounted on one side next to a food bowl/water bottle and also works for high altitude housing. This gives them more sleeping space without cluttering the cage with roosts that stretch the length of the cage. I only use natural branches for perches because that's best for her legs, but it means I have to place everything carefully because all branches are uniquely shaped. I bought X-Large about three years ago. It didn't take my macaw too long to completely remove its bark, but that shouldn't come as a surprise to any macaw owner. She is taller than most green wings and her legs are huge. It is difficult to find perches that are wide enough in diameter for their legs. The X-Large I got is about 3-3.5 inches in diameter and if I got one that was closer to 2 inches I would give it to my BFA. These are good perches at a reasonable price and I will buy from this company again. That being said, if you have access to bird-safe wood that you can harvest legally and for free, go for it (lists of bird-safe wood are easy to find online and I'd suggest looking it up anyway to make sure the perches, you buy are safe). I live in the city and finding legal wood where I live is more trouble than it's worth.
