I make coffee roasters as a hobby. While a PID controller and a standard solid state relay can give some control, I would really prefer to vary the voltage on my heating elements. Of course, a dimmer or router controller can work on lower current listening elements. But in my experience they get too hot and don't last long. The solution is a variable semiconductor relay! This item is AMAZING! I can roast all day, change heating elements and not overheat any of my controls. As a bonus, the accuracy is far superior to anything I've used before. I highly recommend it for any type of heating element or engine.
