Struggling with rating/review.

I’m struggling how to rate/review these LED lights. I purchased them to use in an 18x36 ingound vinyl liner swimming pool. The pools sides (behind the liner) are polymer and not steel so the provided magnets won’t work. They were installed two nights ago using the provided suction cups. I turned them on I was really impressed. Yeah, you have to get relatively close to turn them on/off as they all may not go on/off depending on where you’re standing. But for the money, four of them provide just enough light. I’m debating on purchasing two more as this would definitely provide enough light. Here's the rub. The provided suction cups released at some point on all four pucks. I came home last night to find the pucks illuminating but sitting on the bottom of the pool. The pool was not used yesterday so it’s not like they got knocked loose due to swimming. All four LED pucks are currently sitting at the bottom of the pool. So, I’ll be setting out in a bit to fish them out of the pool. And, the remote will not turn the LED on/off in eight feet of water. This will apparently be a recurring problem. These are the second-generation units with the supposedly bigger suction cups. While I’d like to give them five stars based on the first night, I cannot. Perhaps, 5 stars for the type and amount of light. Perhaps, 3-4 stars for the remote control as you may have to get closer to one or more of the pucks to turn them on/off. Definitely, 1-2 stars for the suction cups as they didn’t even hold on for 24 hours. So, after fishing the pucks out of the pool I’ll be left with finding a better way of affixing them to the vinyl liner walls. Maybe some 3M magnetic tape? Maybe adhere a steel mounting tab of some sort? Anything steel, of course, will be prone to rusting so that’s probably not an option. Bigger suction cups? Hmmm…

Pros
  • They are easy to maintain and clean, ensuring a long-lasting, beautiful lighting solution
Cons
  • The lights may not be able to be adjusted to a specific brightness level, leading to potential discomfort for some users
