I can't understand why this product has so many 4 star reviews. I have to attribute this to a large number of "woodies" who don't understand the difference between sharp and dull. These blades (like most Chinese-made tools) arrived blunt. In fact, I compared it to a 2 year old Diablo blade that I replaced and while it's long overdue to replace the Diablo blade, the Diablo is still sharper than the new Dewalt blades. I confess that I was drawn to the obvious deal and recalled that I had used Dewalt blades before and was quite happy with them. made a test cut. I started with a thin blade on a piece of pine. I usually work with exotic hardwoods so I didn't expect the pine to withstand much and thought this would be a fair test of the blade's basic capabilities. Less than an eighth of an inch into the cut I felt like I had to physically drive the miter saw into the wood and I could smell the pine beginning to burn. All the common signs of dull blades and all the good reasons to order new blades. In the photo below you can see the cut and the arson at the edge of the cut. Like a new blade, it had to cut through 2x4 jaws like a knife through hot butter. For my own safety, I stopped the cut and removed the blade. I then installed a general purpose blade and started the same test cut. The universal blade dove into the wood with a little less effort, and then it happened. About an inch into the cut, the blade jammed and the saw rebounded, which never happened with my miter saw. I unplugged the machine, took out the blade and put it back in the box. target blade. I also carefully examined the blade on a perfectly flat surface and noticed that it had a slight warp, probably a manufacturing defect. I sincerely hope that Dewalt will withdraw these blades due to obvious quality defects and their obvious safety risks. These blades do not belong in any lumber shop or workplace. Pictures: 1.
