The price of these drives is so low that I bought two. One to store my video files and the other to backup. When one died I considered it a failure and bought another. Then the second died two weeks later! And I'm not kidding, the third just died. Luckily I had backup copies of the files, but this drive is a TOTAL UNLOADER! Do yourself a favor and spend a little more for a quality disc. DETAILS: I take good care of my discs, keeping them cool when in use and storing them in silicone gel pouches to keep moisture out. All drives had the same problem: when you connect them to your computer, the LED does not light up and the drive is not recognized by your computer. I've tried other computers and other cables. It's definitely a ride. And the worst thing was that the workshop said they couldn't take it apart because it was glued. You must send it to LaCie to receive your data. Maybe it's all cheating? Not really.
