💾 LaCie Space Gray USB 3.0 Type-C Mobile Drive - 5TB Storage Capacity Review

At first I thought my aging MBP couldn't handle large photo files coupled with the lack of USB-C and thought it was time for a new laptop. Luckily my son came home for spring break so I could use his 2019 MBP. Shock shock, file access is a nightmare, once there, no problem, but otherwise forget it. I rebooted the system, tried a different cable and nothing, I ran Disk Utility - First Aid, it's been "Check Hierarchy" for over 20 minutes now. It looks like the hard drive is not responding at all.

Good hard drive and great price but it wasn't as fast as I hoped (4/5 star reason) - not the fault of the seller who shipped much quicker than I expected would have. I will use this seller again and would highly recommend to other Revain customers.

Bought for use with my new (2019) MacBook Air. It's easy to set up a small partition for backups and leave the rest of the drive for music, photos and movies. Not limited to expensive memory upgrades from Apple. Very small and light.

The price of these drives is so low that I bought two. One to store my video files and the other to backup. When one died I considered it a failure and bought another. Then the second died two weeks later! And I'm not kidding, the third just died. Luckily I had backup copies of the files, but this drive is a TOTAL UNLOADER! Do yourself a favor and spend a little more for a quality disc. DETAILS: I take good care of my discs, keeping them cool when in use and storing them in silicone gel pouches

This is the second Lacie product I've owned and I've had the same problem over and over which has made the hard drive barely work. For some reason they don't make the hard drive connector strong enough so after repeated use it loosens and then you can't connect the hard drive to a service because you have to keep wiggling the cable to make it work. . This disc worked well initially. I had to reformat it for Mac. But it's a simple process. At first I was satisfied. But then I noticed from time to time that it got disconnected from my computer. I always put it down to moving it or the computer too much and just accidentally disconnecting it. However, this is not the case. These were just early signs of impending doom.
