We use this product in a 10 gallon tank. Fill the tank halfway with water. This pump provides enough circulation to pump water and keep the tank clean. The current is not too strong, so the turtles (2) can swim against the current. The included filter is easy to remove and can be washed and reused. When the filter is dirty you will see a drop in pump pressure. I still use a water purifier to get solids in the filter when the water starts to get cloudy. The next day I wash the filter and it always helps. Don't spend a lot of money on other pumps. This one does a great job.
