I live in Florida and our fans are always on. I also love burning scented candles almost every day. I've found standard butane lighters difficult to use when my ceiling fans are on. I often had to turn my back on the fan and effectively block the wind with my body to be able to light the candles. It always annoyed me, so sometimes I just didn't light the candles because I didn't want to fight the lighter. It's not that my fans are so powerful that they blow out the lighter, it's that they fan the flame randomly, not allowing the wick to get enough flame to light it. With this arc lighter there are no such problems! It doesn't mind the wind at all and I can easily light candles even when all my fans are up! I also like the battery indicator. It's nice to know that it will run out of power when you use it, so you can charge it before the next use. There's nothing worse than using a dead lighter when you need it. I was also very pleased with the sliding lock above the ignition button. I just see myself walking around with it and accidentally clicking on it before getting close to what I wanted to illuminate. The lighter has some features that make it high quality. Overall very happy with this product and highly recommend!
