I needed a front mount so I could mount the light under my cycle computer. This was the only available bracket that, in combination with the Cygolite adapter sold separately by Revain, allowed me to mount my Cygolite Metro 700 fixture to the external front mount. This avoids (sometimes) the hassle of attaching the light to the handlebars (e.g. on aero bars) while still providing a clean overall look. The only problem is that this mount doesn't hold the Garmin GPS nearly as tightly as Garmin's own branded front mount.
