Pretty good controller for the price

EasySMX is quickly becoming a trusted controller brand and this controller is no exception. The design of the controller is very similar to the Xbox 360 controller, the triggers/bumpers have the same overall shape in the same places. The main difference is that this controller has a crossed d-pad as opposed to the hybrid round/crossed d-pads found on Microsoft controllers. The launch/select buttons also come in a variety of shapes and materials, and this controller uses a built-in rechargeable battery. Ergonomics This controller is very comfortable to hold. It looks like an Xbox 360 controller. So if you liked it, you will probably like it too. The handles have several grooves to make them easier to hold. All buttons are easily accessible and not much has changed. The biggest problem I have is that the select button is too close to the left joystick. The stick gets in the way when I try to press Select, and I have to move it sideways a little each time to press the button properly. The triggers and shoulders are well placed and you don't have to stretch out your index fingers to move from one to the other, which is nice. ButtonsThe quality of the buttons is very good. The triggers are quite light, a bit lighter than other controllers. They must have used weaker springs for this. The bumpers are nice to touch, tactile but not loud or clicky. They have a slightly more muted click. The face buttons feel good, the home button feels good, the d-pad is pretty decent. The sticks feel good and not cheap. The biggest complaint concerns the Start/Select buttons. They are not made of plastic, but of silicone/rubber. So they are very soft and have no tactile click when pressed. To be honest I don't know why they used this stuff for Start and Select. Your ESM-9013 had much better Start/Select buttons. Compatibility. This works with any PC game that is compatible with Xinput controllers, ie most modern games. It also works natively with Steam Link hardware. However, with some games I've noticed that the controller will randomly lose connection, especially if I leave it idle for a while (e.g. when I go to the bathroom quickly). Reconnects fairly quickly, but not as smoothly as other controllers. Ease of use It's as simple as plugging in the dongle and pressing the home button to turn on the controller. The included micro USB cable is for charging if you don't have an extra cable lying around. Build Quality The build quality seems to be pretty good. Doesn't creak or bend when I apply force to it, and the interior doesn't rattle when I shake it. It seems a little lighter than I wanted, but I think that's because I'm used to using controllers that run on AA batteries. Battery life Can't comment on that to be honest as I've never drained a battery to zero before. I have a habit of charging the controller between each session or every other session. Final Thoughts Overall this controller is really good for the price. If you play on a PC or have a Steam Link device, this controller will work just fine. The quality feels much more premium than other controllers. However, due to fuzzy start/select buttons and random disconnects, I have to give 4 stars instead of 5.
