Worked well as a water filter in our small fish pond. It was easy to cut with a pair of sturdy scissors and the size and quantity gave me enough for a few more future filter changes. I would recommend it as a replacement filter and in my humble opinion it's a wise purchase. (I combined it with a bi-weekly algae-reducing supplement and our water was nice and clean.)
