Shure 7M-7B Microphone Missing Link

Here's the cure for the very shy, quiet Shure SM-7B Microphone. 7B and wow what a game changer! This gives the mic TONS of useful gain. And the 286 has really good handling. Not only can it really increase the gain, but it can also keep the extra noise and "noise floor" completely quiet! The Expander Gate eliminates all extra noise in the room - I mean ALL. It's like sitting in a fully cushioned broadcast room, when in fact you can broadcast from Grand Central Station without anyone noticing! This is such a nice feature. Similarly, the compressor does a phenomenal job of boosting quiet sounds and reducing sounds that are too loud - it's just amazing. I connected 286's to the 2ch USB interface of the Presonus Audiobox and surprisingly the gain on the interface should be completely off - zero! - and the output level on the 286 is reduced to -20 dB! That's how loud the SM-7B sounds with this setting. And it's dead quiet too! No hiss. No rumble. Dead silence until you speak into the microphone. And when you say it, it sounds fantastic. I highly recommend the 286S.
