This item works great with brushing teeth

I have a 17 lb Vesti and need to brush her teeth regularly. I bought one of these a few years ago and used it from time to time when I wanted a quick clean between cleanings. I've just come back to order 6 more as I feel like she needs attention 2 times a day instead of 1 and that cleans a bit differently than a toothbrush so I can brush her teeth at night as normal and then use in the morning after she has eaten to refresh her and hopefully get better results. It's much better than a finger brush because you can feel what you're doing and reach all surfaces if you can get your dog to open his mouth. I think the key to this is finding a toothpaste that your dog likes. My dog likes minty sweet toothpaste and dislikes chicken flavored toothpaste, but every dog is different. I start with a clean paste and spray it with some 3% peroxide to keep it moist. Then I add her toothpaste and rub it in to spread it out. You can also use colloidal silver. I like to use something antibacterial to make sure I don't introduce bacteria. Then I go over all the surfaces of her teeth, front, back, top and bottom. Finally I get the palate and her tongue. Overall, it doesn't take long compared to brushing and leaves a clean and fresh mouth. We only feed them twice a day so there is nothing to eat before lunch and we brush their teeth after dinner. I have 6 left so I have 7. One for each day of the week. That way I can wash them in the washing machine once a week instead of hand washing and hanging to dry. I'll probably wash them on my own with a safe, mild, fragrance-free soap. The one I have is 2 years old and although I haven't used it daily it still has a grippy surface to clean my teeth and gums. Good product.
