Review on ๐Ÿฃ Sushi Go Party Card Game: A Flavorful Fun-Filled Delight! by Kevin Parker

I like the original game

Let me say up front, I'm an avid Sushi-Go player. I love the original game and I really like this new deluxe version. BUT. There is a FATAL design flaw in the new game. Cards have gotten a lot thinner/cheaper. Some might not think it's that important, but one of the changes they made from the original version to the updated version is the constant shuffling every round. . I got this new deluxe version and took it to a party to play and the very first thing that struck me when I took the cards apart was how weak they were. The reason I put so much stock into it is because after just one night I've got some pretty shoddy adult-only cards, all using standard shuffling techniques. As I said I am an avid Sushi Go player, I played the original 1 night before playing this deluxe version and today took cards from the original game not once but twice after my 2 year old she had taken possession of. I can safely say that I'm quite familiar with the "quality" of the game's construction. I'd like to give this game a much higher score just for the mechanics, but when I have to replace a $20 deck of cards every 3 months it's hardly worth it and I feel like I'm going there. I would easily object to the metal tin this comes in. Or just pay an extra $5 per game if the quality was much better. With all the negativity, it's hard to hear how amazing the gameplay of this is. It's quick to learn and takes a long time to master, especially with this version. The gameplay of this game is still pretty amazing.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No machine
