Review on Sound Storm EV4.400 Evolution Car Amplifier - πŸš— 400 Watts, 4-Channel, 2-8 Ohm Stable Class A/B, Full Range by Todd Markel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

GREAT amp for the whole system.

First, NO, this amp is NOT a powerhouse. This is a 4 channel full range amp that takes up almost ZERO space, has 4 channels, 1 and 2 have a high pass filter, 3 and 4 have a low pass filter and it has 2 separate RCA inputs. This combination is VERY rare and the price is very reasonable for the list of features. Let's get to the rating! I am using this amp in a "toolbox" speaker system I built. I have 2 SLA batteries connected in parallel for power supply, I use an RC balance charger as internal charger, it puts out 6 amps and balances the batteries at 15V. I am using an old Walmart touchscreen bluetooth head unit as audio source , two Skar EVL-65 D4 with 2 ohms each on channels 3 and 4, two SSL 6x9 on channels 1 and 2, both channels set to their respective crossovers. I need to find the best tools to wrap the entire setup but so far this concept works too well. Our neighbors downstairs (they are on the 1st floor, we are on the 3rd floor) said they felt the bass when I turned it up 3/4. I have a couple of trucks at work (I'm a fleet mechanic) where our boys want to upgrade the stereo, this amp will be installed in each of their trucks if the company approves the stereo modification.

Pros
  • MAX. 50 watts into 4 ohms x 4 channels
Cons
  • Negative Impressions
