Review on Avalon Shower Lever Handle Rebuild Kit - Pfister S10-400K, Brushed Nickel Finish by Jason Staggs

Doesn't matter! Look for the polypropylene on the old body to make sure it's compatible.

Like many others, I had no idea what brand of valve was in my shower. After 30+ years of using hard water and stain remover desperate to fix everything and not liking the idea of a complete replacement with soldering and all I went to see what would work. I've seen these and they were similar. Then I noticed "PP" on the side of a valve in the photo. I've seen this before, with me. And now I know what "Price Pfister" means. Yes. This is the right kit. The installation went great. I removed all the old components in advance (my shower has separate stopcocks behind the access panel so I didn't have to shut off the water throughout the house) so I reinstalled everything in about an hour on the day of arrival. As others have said, they stick out more than the old ones, but that doesn't really bother me. No more drops. No more water leaking from the handles (due to a worn seal) and no hard water scaling. I've read some negative reviews and most of them fall into one of three categories: 1) They tried to use it. with a different system than Pfister. Not Pfister's or Revane's fault. And now you know how to say it. 2) They just didn't know what they were doing, which is tricky as the instructions were pretty clear to me. You can also find YouTube videos on changing valves and seats to help you. Again, this isn't Pfister's or Revane's fault. Watch the YouTube video to see if this project is for you. Models from other brands with two handles are also quite applicable. 3) Maybe they have that rare manufacturing defect. It happens. Send back for exchange. Okay, it's Pfister's fault. But at this price I would risk it again as flaws seem to be rare judging by the reviews here.

Pros

Cons
