I bought these to replace worn shocks on a 2005 Silverado. I tow almost every day and those bumps make a huge difference in how my truck is towed. Monroes have far less bouncing and jerking back and forth. I'm towing a 5500 lb trailer and have exactly 2 inches less sag when applying the weight of the tongue. Less feeling of being pushed by a trailer. Ride unloaded and handling is much better, much less jumping and more control. over bumps, especially cornering, and less steering vibration at highway speeds. The ride is firm, but definitely not uncomfortable. I would say it rides the same as new but with a firmer feel. Once installed, I jacked up the center rear with my hitch until the wheels were off the ground. This gave me the perfect height to mount the left shock with no compression, the bolts went right in. I had to lower the right side so the wheel barely touches the ground and the bolts slide right in. Yes, I used jackstands under the frame for safety reasons.
