I ordered this USB outlet extender and USB charger surge protector for our son, WVU, a recent college student. I didn't realize until we got this that all the outlets are on one outlet and they all plug into the wall so the two outlets are covered. Had I known this before ordering, I would have looked for something that didn't cover both outlets. But he was okay with that, so I didn't order anything else. So far he and his roommates are happy. It is important that their electronic devices are safe and that they have this surge protection. This wall outlet extender has 6 outlets and 3 USB ports, which was also very important to them. According to the manufacturer, these days are far apart, in my opinion they are not particularly far apart. They have two outlets that are a bit wider, and we really appreciate that. Make sure you check the info on the type of wall outlet it fits as it will only fit duplex and decorative outlets, not GFCI or USB outlets. Another plus is that your mobile phone conveniently fits on the power strip while charging. It's good if the socket is nearby. It's a good outlet extender and surge protector if you're willing to lose your outlet (because it covers two outlets). Recommended with the above caveat.
