After the eMMc broke I was left with a brick board. During several weeks of troubleshooting I tried putting the eMMc chip in recovery and mask mode, desoldering the eMMc chip and removing the resistor and capacitor which caused the board to turn on when plugged in. In my opinion, the board needs more support. like firmware. The board crashed because the fan might have shorted out. After a few crashes with Lubuntu, the board stalled until I desoldered the eMMC chip. I'm using nvme to install Arch. The fan starts hard, it could be a problem in the code, running a CPU write test can sometimes start the fan, but the whole system crashes most likely due to a bug in the PWM. I think replacing the fan might help, too early to tell at this point.
