Works well! the best of power tools and hand tools

I work a lot with small engines, mainly motorcycles and ATVs. I needed a new 1/4" drive torque wrench and jumped at the opportunity to review this one. I'm glad I did! LOL So far this has turned out to be a big clue. Easy to use, yes, I've had no problems after working with it on a couple of bikes. My only complaints (if you can call them that) are that the plastic case that comes with it is a bit bigger than it should be. I think so it is made for a larger wrench and just has a smaller 1/4" washer inserted into the same. It could be a lot shorter. I always keep my torque wrenches in cases to keep them clean and protected from other tools so a larger suitcase always gets in the way. Again, this isn't really a complaint, just a personal preference, but I prefer wrenches with a locking knob on the end of the handle rather than the shoulder used in this case. In this case, pull the green one Collar to the end of the handle which unlocks it so you can twist the handle to install. The collar is spring loaded and slides back to to secure him. It works great and is actually a bit quicker to set up than the pen type, I think I'll get used to it over time. lol In terms of operation, the wrench makes a nice positive click when torque is reached, it's hard to miss. I tightened a few bolts with them and then took my old wrench for comparison and they fit. Not a very accurate or scientific way to verify, but it works for me. ;) This key will surely find many uses here. It would be nice to include an adapter or two, maybe an extension cord. Most tools seem to come with a few small additions. I think if it helps keep costs down then fine!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Useless features
