Almost perfect for bait

Let me first say that I received this product free of charge as I am a former Brieftons product owner and they wanted my opinion on their new lure/chopper model. I really liked the salad bowl of the previous model. (See review here: https://amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3V2CZLF73DV66?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_srp). This new model has several important features. It's made from the same base material as the old spinner, which feels strong and durable. The first big difference I noticed was that the plunger at the top was now removable (necessary because it's also used in the grinder/blender). The piston has a longer stroke than the old one and is easier to use. It also allows for a much faster spin speed, which should result in more moisture being removed from the spinning items. Another key difference between the old and new models (and the reason for deducting 1 star) is the lack of a braking system on the new model. On the old model, the brake could be used to stop the spinning bowl almost instantly, but on this new spinner with no brake, it sometimes takes quite a long time for the bowl to stop spinning. Not a big deal, but a pretty significant one. Actually, it really only deserves 1/2 star deduction, but that's not possible. The addition of a chopper/mixer is nice. I tested it the day I received the device. First, I cut the celery stalk into 2-inch pieces and place them in a small bowl. This little jig cuts them quickly and effortlessly (see photo). Next. I did the same with carrots. This time, however, the helicopter jammed almost immediately. A piece of carrot is stuck between the lower knife and the bottom of the bowl. I made the pieces a little smaller and that helped. Nicely cut carrots in no time. Finally, I tried a whole peanut in the shell. Although it took more time and effort to get the job done, it worked surprisingly well. There were still a few whole chunks of peanuts left, but I usually find that true no matter how I grind them (unless I use a hammer). Overall I was very happy with the new blender and salad chopper combo and would recommend it. If the Briptons could just put the braking system back on the spinner that would be perfect.
