Two batteries are included, which is nice. It uses three button-sized batteries. According to the manual, you should check the wheel alignment. After turning it on, I found that it was misaligned. Alignment is easy as all you have to do is rotate the laser head. It's also bad as you can easily break the alignment if you put it in your toolbox. So I just keep it in the original packaging. Since I'm only using it for some random measurements, it works fine. But if I have to worry about alignment every time I use it, I'm not going to like it. Also, the laser head feels a bit thin. You get what you paid for. If you only use it occasionally, that's fine. However, if you use it frequently, opt for a more professional look.
