Review on DDSky USB Fingerprint Reader One-Pack - Portable Biometric Scanner for Windows 10 with Enhanced Windows Hello Features by Gary Duncan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Happy customer

Normally I would be too lazy to write a review about an online purchase. There are exceptions where a product is either inherently terrible or exceptionally good. This is the last. I recently built a computer and wanted to buy a fingerprint scanner to use the Windows Hello feature. I ordered "Benss Fingerprint Reader" and used it for 10 days. It was just functional. More precisely, it recognizes my already registered thumb 60% of the time, but rarely my index finger, which of course is also registered. Overall, I'm not happy with this $25 purchase. Then it was almost an impulse purchase of this product. The price is $17, cheaper than Benss. I was browsing USB fingerprint scanners on Revain last night (10/18/2019) like I did 10 days ago and came across this. It didn't strike me as an established competitor as it only has 5 reviews. In the end I chose it because its touchscreen looks larger than most of its counterparts and hopefully the larger screen offers better accuracy. This turned out to be true. I picked it up at my doorstep an hour ago and couldn't wait to try it out. I registered thumb and forefinger blocked several times. It was as fast as the MacBook Pro's fingerprint button. I also tried unenrolled fingers as there are other products that are reported to have a high false positive rate. He doesn't have that problem.

  • Impressive
Cons
