This was the second time I had to purchase this product only to find that it still didn't work properly. When I first bought it, Mode 33 sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks on every album. I returned it thinking it was just a lemon and bought it again. The same thing happened. I called the company and they said it is a belt drive turntable that can vary in speed. Different speeds? Every turntable I ever bought listening to albums in the 80's didn't have variable speeds. You may think it's 2019 and the technology will be better. nope I'm not sure if Fivestar's comments are legal or not. I bought my daughter a $50 portable turntable and it works much better than this one and actually has much better quality knobs and knobs. We don't recommend buying this unless you just want to make extra trips to UPS for returns.
