Review on πŸ”Œ ORICO Toolfree USB 3.0 to SATA External 3.5 Hard Drive Enclosure Case: For 3.5 SATA HDD and SSD, Supports UASP and 16TB Drives by Kendrick Barron

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Overheats quickly Best in hard drive cases

This unit has potential if the manufacturer makes some much needed improvements. Two positives first: 1) This device has a decently thick shell which seems to be durable in the long run 2) Easy to use, tool-less design and easy connection with no virus installation required (in Windows 7). Why am I rating this 1 star now? The main disadvantage of the design, this device has no ventilation. It's advertised as supporting both HDD and SSD, but with a thick plastic case and no ventilation, the device quickly heats up to the point where it slows down performance and compromises your hard drive. In all likelihood, SSDs will suffice as they don't generate as much heat as traditional HDDs. Conclusion: The case has to be ventilated for HDD use. Update from 27.04. It's acceptable to spam purchases of their products and ask them to leave a review (I received 2 requests from them in 3 days). In this case it was obvious that the product was rubbish after a few uses, but honestly I think Revain should require users to own the product before they can leave a review, and even then they should at least have within one month for general goods. and 90 days for electronics; If that were the case, many products might not get the inflated BS 5* reviews left by people happy they received the package.
